Value-Enhanced Design, sometimes referred to as Value Engineering, analyzes the elements of a building design in terms of cost-effectiveness and suggests alternatives that might reduce the overall cost. This ranges from combining or downscaling spaces in order to reduce overall size to substituting less expensive materials or systems for those initially chosen. JML uses Value Engineering principles at every stage of the project to avoid potentially drastic redesign at either the end of the design phase or after the bidding phase. |
